• Expert panels review the state of the science in treatment and intervention for individuals with AS and recommend specific studies to determine what programs are actually effective versus simply popular. The Foundation then requests proposals from researchers to further investigate important areas related to treatment and the underlying neurobiological issues and chooses to offer financial support to selected researchers.

• A 50 state survey to determine where adults with AS are eligible for supportive services. Both governmental agencies are individuals and their families are being surveyed.

• Developing training DVDs to help individuals and families cope with the real problems AS presents. The first one describes the issues college students with AS face and will help potential students and their parents insure an effective support system is in place before problems arise.

• A professional capacity building project to help increase the number of competent professionals who truly understand how to help children and adults with AS.

• United Way
Many United Way campaigns allow individuals to write in registered charities. Please consider writing in Asperger Foundation International.

• Matching Gift Programs
Many corporations have matching gift programs to encourage charitable contributions by their employees. Some match dollar for dollar and others are more generous. Usually these programs are very simple for the employee. If you contact your human resources department or corporate giving officer, you can easily make donations that will be multipled.

• Stock Donation
If you donate appreciated stock or securities, you may be entitled to a charitable gift deduction on your taxes. Please check with your accountant for rules specific to your situation.

• Making a donation in honor of or to memorialize someone
A tax deductible donation may be make to honor an occasion or remember someone important in your life. AspFI will send a letter of acknowledgement to the donor and a letter notifying the gift recipient or designated loved one.

• Designating Funds
You may wish to support a particular program of Asperger Foundation International. Please contact us (212-371-7755) to discuss how you may sponsor a particular activity that you may feel has particular value or relevance to you. There are projects that directly help families, that increase professional knowledge through training, or that research particular issues of importance to the field of Asperger Syndrome.

• Consider making a tax deductible gift in the name of someone who has been touched by Asperger Syndrome, as a congratulations, birthday or anniversary gift.
